InOneWeekend is an annual weekend event that brings one hundred marketing, design, technology, legal, and business minds together for three days, from Friday night to Sunday night to create a start-up venture from scratch. The purpose of InOneWeekend is to create a low-commitment, high-return experience for a pool of talented individuals interested in innovation and entrepreneurship who would otherwise never meet.

Think Habitat for Humanity… but instead of building a house in a weekend, we’re going to build the next eBay. Or YouTube. Whatever.

Over the course of the weekend, participants brainstorm start-up concepts and business models and actually design and build those concepts over the weekend with a product launch on Sunday night. The framework for the event is designed to arm participants with the basic elements of successful business models, while allowing them to construct the enterprises of their choosing.

The only commitment for participants is their time and talent for a weekend. At the end of the weekend, a viable start-up is launched and, depending on personal interest, participants have the opportunity to pursue it beyond the weekend.
